Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? Maybe, but science has yet to prove it, and there’s a lot more where that came from. Here are 10 “facts” that are surprisingly not scientifically proven. Why do I suddenly feel like my world has been changed forever?
1. Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day
This is one of those things that was told to us so many times we just accepted it as true. Yet, despite the fact that tons of research has been done, no conclusions have been made regarding when a person should eat their first meal of the day. Mind blown.
2. Saturated Fat Can Cause Heart Disease
There is no evidence that proves that saturated fat specifically causes heart diseases. Now that doesn’t mean that saturated fat is good for your health, so, unfortunately, diving into that pile of french fries may still not be the best idea, even if it has no effect on your heart.
3. Sugar Can Cause Hyperactivity
Everyone knows that when you give kids sugar they start acting crazy, right? Actually, maybe not. The truth is that there is evidence against the idea that sugar causes hyperactivity. More than just not being scientifically proven, for this one, the opposite may actually be true. Who would have thought?
4. The Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator Tells Us Our Personality
Unfortunately, the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator, created by real, trusted psychologists, does not accurately identify what our personalities are. This test, once taken seriously, now is said to “fail to include what psychologists define as personality, including thoughts, emotional responses, and behaviors,” meaning that it lacks both validity and reliability.
