Do your friends find you funny? Is hanging out with you a barrel of laughs? If you answered “yes” to these questions, then you are in for some great news!
Laugh Your Way To Success
Researchers in Austria suggest that funny people have a higher level of intelligence compared to their less humorous peers.
The research suggested that the ability to make people laugh requires both intellectual and emotional skills. Results of their study showed that funny people scored higher in the tests on verbal and non-verbal intelligence. Meanwhile, they received lower scores in aggressiveness and mood disturbance.
The report also confirmed that funny people tend to achieve more success in life. This is because their humor and wit easily win over people’s attention, making them effective communicators and leaders.
Additionally, since their presence is generally appreciated, they have the power to unify groups and even influence the cultures of entire organizations.
Funny People Are More Attractive
As if it’s not enough that funny people have higher success rates than unfunny ones, they are more attractive to potential partners as well. In fact, both men and women rate humorous people as “more attractive” in surveys.
A study titled “Personality and Individual Differences” suggested that those with a great sense of humor also have high emotional intelligence.
This trait makes them extremely desirable to others since humor has been identified as a “heritable trait.” So, funny people are seen as more mentally fit and intellectually agile – qualities anyone would definitely want to pass on their bloodline.
If you’re still not convinced that humor is your key to success, then let Albert Einstein prove you wrong.
When Einstein was not busy developing the theory of relativity or studying theoretical physics, he had been known to be quite the ladies’ man.
In fact, here’s a direct quote from the man himself: “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”
You cad, you.
